How undisclosed SEC investigations lead to insider trading
Should companies go public sooner about the fact that the SEC is investigating them? Daniel Taylor, a professor of accounting at Wharton, investigated this question in a research paper titled, “Undisclosed SEC Investigations,” which considers whether insiders gain an unfair advantage in being able to sell shares before the information hits the market.

Two Penn juniors named Truman Scholars
Two juniors, Annah Chollet and Camilo Duran, have received Harry S. Truman Scholarships, a merit-based award of as much as $30,000 for graduate or professional school to prepare for careers in public service.

A Rhodes for Ferreira
David Ferreira C’04, from Hamilton, Bermuda, has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, which will fund two to three years of study at Oxford University in England. Ferreira, a Politics, Philosophy and Economics major in the College of Arts and Sciences, plans to pursue a Bachelor of Laws degree in his first two years at Oxford, followed by a Master of Jurisprudence in his final year.

Calling all artists
The Burrison Gallery is calling for artwork submittals to be considered for its fifth annual University Club Members Exhibit. Any member of the University Club at Penn may submit his or her work for consideration. The juried, group show will open with a reception in the early summer and will be on display in the Gallery from June 19-Aug. 14, 2015.
