Hirschmann is one of three new vice presidents who serve one-year terms on the association’s council. She is joined by Anne-Marie Slaughter of Princeton University and Hanes Walton Jr. of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as APSA vice presidents.

PHILADELPHIA – Five faculty members at the University of Pennsylvania have been named Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Two are from Penn’s Perelman School of Medicine, two are from its School of Arts and Sciences and one has appointments in both schools.
For two decades, Scott Reikofski has influenced University of Pennsylvania fraternities and sororities, as well as Greek life nationally and internationally.
PHILADELPHIA — H. Lee Sweeney, Ph.D., the William Maul Measey Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, has been named the inaugural director of Penn’s Center for Orphan Disease Research and Therapy. The primary mission of the Center is to expedite the translational science and development of novel therapies for rare and orphan diseases.
