Penn Relays

The Penn Relay Carnival, better known as the Penn Relays, is one of Philadelphia’s most anticipated annual events. Originally held in 1895 as a dedication celebration for Franklin Field, the Relays have taken place during the final weekend of April for more than a century.

Penn’s Field Center to Hear Bill Cosby as Keynote Speaker at “One Child, Many Hands” Conference

PHILADELPHIA — The Field Center for Children’s Policy, Practice & Research at the University of Pennsylvania announced today that Bill Cosby will serve as the opening keynote speaker for its fourth biennial conference, “One Child, Many Hands: A Multidisciplinary Conference on Child Welfare,” June 8 at 9 a.m. at Penn’s Wharton School.

Hey Day

Following a tradition that reaches back to 1916, Penn juniors celebrated Hey Day 2011 by donning red shirts, strutting along Locust Walk carrying canes and biting into straw hats. A celebration that is unique to Penn, Hey Day marks the “moving up” of juniors to the senior class. This year’s event began with a class picnic, followed by the boisterous class procession.
