You don’t need an app for that.
The University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics has partnered with an online video technology company to launch the Ivy League® Digital Network for the 2013-2014 season.
Just in time for football season, the Penn Sports Network channel on the Ivy League Digital Network will include an easy-to-navigate interface with a League-wide network game schedule and interactive touch points that showcase the available content on computers, mobile devices and tablets – all without using an app.
Steve Bilsky, a Penn alumnus and the director of athletics at his alma mater, has spent nearly 20 years creating an environment for student-athletes to thrive both athletically and academically. He says the network enables global access to the Penn Athletics community.
“The network has two major new initiatives. It allows the most passionate of sports fans to not only follow their own team, but also view opponents in the Ivy League, as well,” Bilsky said. “Also, Ivy League alumni live beyond the local and regional areas where most television broadcasts occur. The new network will not only span the entire country but enable fans, parents and prospective student-athletes to follow the Quakers from around the world.”
“This network isn’t just about streaming high-quality events; it’s about immersing the fans in the University of Pennsylvania athletic experience and giving them a digital destination that is second to none with the help of live stats, social media integration and more,” said Chris Wagner, executive vice president and co-founder of NeuLion.
Fans can go to www.IvyLeagueDigitalNetwork.com to purchase their annual packages, which include everything the channel offers, from live home and selected away games in high definition, as well as on-demand programming and other premium content. This discounted yearly package to the Penn Sports Network channel is $71.95.
As of Aug. 21, other subscription packages will be available that will allow fans to have inside access to Penn Athletics, including a 12-month pass for $89.95, a four-month pass for $34.95, a one-month pass for $10.95 or a single day pass for $9.95.
Aside from the school-specific packages that are available, fans can choose to sign up for Ivy League-wide subscriptions that include live and on-demand content from a variety of sports across all eight Ivies, conference championship events and additional premium content not available elsewhere. An introductory 12-month, League-wide pass is available at a discounted price of $95.95 through Aug. 21.
