Topping Off, Signing Ceremony for the new Annenberg Public Policy Center Building at Penn

WHAT: A topping off and signing ceremony for the new Annenberg Public Policy Center building, adjacent to the Annenberg School on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The project is a gift of the Annenberg Foundation and the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, which have contributed a total of $41.5 million for its construction, including $6 million earmarked for perpetual maintenance.

The innovative four-story glass and wood structure is designed by Tokyo architect Fumihiko Maki and will house administrative offices of the Annenberg Public Policy Center as well as research facilities and a public meeting space. Occupancy is set for late summer 2009.

WHO: Gail Levin, chairman of the Annenberg Foundation, and Michael X. Delli Carpini, dean of the Annenberg School for Communication, will sign a steel beam before the traditional topping-off ceremony. They will be joined by representatives of the university and the construction team.
