RecycleMania E-Waste Collection for Cast-Off Personal Electronics Is Tomorrow

 

WHAT:

In support of RecycleMania, the CommuniTech group at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, will host an electronic waste recycling event for the Penn community.

 

WHO:

Penn students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bring in their old electronics and computer hardware from home for free disposal through the University’s e-waste recycler, Elemental Inc., which ensures that the material will be processed and recycled, destroyed or displaced in an environmentally correct manner in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.

WHEN:

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3

 

WHERE:

Levine Hall, 3330 Walnut St.

DETAILS:

These items will be accepted: printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, laptops, desktop towers, drives, mice, VCR players, DVD players, stereos, speakers, computer peripherals, wires, circuit boards and other small electronics.

Items with screens -- monitors, televisions, etc. – and refrigerators, freezers or any products containing Freon will not be accepted.


This collection is for personal electronics only. Penn offices and departments are asked to organize a separate pickup to dispose of University-owned computers, monitors, printers, copiers and electronic appliances.
