PHILADELPHIA-- Writers Richard Ford, Cynthia Ozick and Ian Frazier have been named the Kelly Writers House Fellows for the spring 2006 semester at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ford will be on the Penn campus Feb. 13-14, followed by Ozick March 20-21 and Frazier April 17-18.

The Fellows program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to interact with noted authors in an informal setting.

Richard Ford's 1995 book, "Independence Day," was the first ever to win both the Pulitzer Prize and the Pen/Faulkner Award.  His other well-known works include the novel "The Sportswriter" and the short story "Rock Springs."   

A novelist and essayist, Cynthia Ozick has been called "a kind of narrative hypnotist. Her range is extraordinary; there is seemingly nothing she cannot do."  Her latest book is 2004's "Heir to the Glimmering World."

Best known for his humorous and well-researched first-person narratives, Ian Frazier spent many years writing for "The New Yorker."  His non-fiction books include "On the Rez," "Great Plains" and "Family."

During the visit of each Fellow, a reading/presentation will take place on Monday at 6:30 p.m.  On Tuesday at 10 a.m., Kelly Writers House will host a brunch followed by a one-hour interview/conversation.  Reservations are necessary.
