Penn’s 2014 Kelly Writers House Fellows Announced

The University of Pennsylvania will host three celebrated writers as Kelly Writers House Fellows during the 2014 spring semester.

Journalist and essayist Buzz Bissenger will visit Penn Feb. 17-18, followed by fiction writer T.C. Boyle March 31-April 1 and poet Rae Armantrout April 28-29.

The Fellows Program offers young and aspiring writers opportunities to interact with eminent authors, writers, writer-critics and poets at evening readings and informal teaching sessions.

During the visit of each Fellow, a reading will take place at Kelly Writers House on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday at 10 a.m. the Writers House will host a brunch followed by a one-hour public interview/conversation.

The Kelly Writers House is located at 3805 Locust Walk on Penn's campus. Attendance for both programs is by reservation only.

RSVPs may be sent to whfellow@writing.upenn.edu.

The programs will be broadcast live worldwide on KWH-TV and archived online.

In the Writers House Fellows Seminar, students will study the work of all three Fellows.

The course is taught by Al Filreis, professor of English and faculty director of Kelly Writers House.

This year’s coordinator is Lily Applebaum.

The course description, syllabi from previous years, images and biographies of this year’s and past Fellows, as well as links to archived readings and Webcasts, are available at http://writing.upenn.edu/wh/people/fellows/.
