Antarctica’s ice sheets behave very differently from each other and from Greenland’s ice sheet. Jane Willenbring, who has conducted field research on our planet’s southernmost continent, will explain why these ice structures are different, how we predict what they will do in the future and what this means as climate change leads to rising sea levels. 

The talk is part of the Penn Science Café free public-lecture series presented by the School of Arts and Sciences and the Office of University Communications that takes science out of the lab for a night on the town.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
