Penn Museum to Celebrate the Republic of Turkey


PHILADELPHIA –- The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology will spotlight Turkey in Turkish Delight! from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, May 3.

The day will feature belly-dance and folk-dance performances, talks on Turkey’s culture and history by historians and archaeologists, discussions of Turkish life by Turkish students from Penn and Drexel University, poetry readings, an award-winning Turkish movie, a food demonstration, a mosaic-tile workshop and a “Grand Bazaar.”
Turkish Delight! is co-sponsored by the Turkish Cultural Foundation, the Turkish American Friendship Society of the U.S., the Middle East Center at Penn and the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.
