PHILADELPHIA – Penn Home Ownership Services invites all University of Pennsylvania and Penn Health System employees with an interest in purchasing homes, making improvements or reducing energy costs for their current residences to attend an informational program at 4 p.m., Monday, May 21, in Houston Hall’s Ben Franklin Room.

Representatives from the City of Philadelphia’s Home Buy Now program will be there to discuss matching grants they award to employees looking to purchase a home within the boundary areas of the Penn Home Ownership Services program area.  The Philadelphia Home Buy Now program offers as much as $4,000 in matching grants to Penn employees who purchase homes in this defined area.

In addition, current homeowners may also be eligible for home improvement loans and energy efficiency improvements.

Members of the Penn community can also get information about Greening Penn at Home, a new program that provides education on home energy efficiency best practices and helps employees implement cost-effective, energy-efficient home improvements.  Under Greening Penn at Home, Mark Group, a local provider of home energy efficiency analysis and improvement, provides free home energy assessments and energy efficiency home improvements at preferred rates, in addition to on-campus educational sessions.
