BETHLEHEM, Pa. -– The University of Pennsylvania defeated Penn State University “B” at Lehigh University to capture the United States Tennis Association Campus Championship–Middle States, earning an automatic bid to the USTA National Campus Championship in Cary, N.C., April 7-9, 2011.

      Pennsylvania, Penn State and third place finisher Villanova will join the champions and runners-up from each of the 17 USTA Sections, as well as a number of additional teams who will receive at-large bids.

Penn claimed the 2010 USTA Campus Championship–Middle States title after defeating four-time defending champs Penn State, 27-18. in the finals. In the semi-finals Villanova clutched to their small lead and defeated Penn State “A,” 25-24 to take third place honors.
