Morris Arboretum’s Annual Moonlight & Roses Gala – A Lovely Evening Under the Stars

Enjoy a lovely evening under the stars in Morris Arboretum’s world-class Rose Garden at the annual Moonlight & Roses fundraising gala on Friday, June 7.  Proceeds from this year’s event will support both annual operations and education programs. These education initiatives encourage environmental awareness and stewardship and thereby continue the Arboretum’s mission of connecting plants, people and place.

This year’s Moonlight & Roses honoree is long time friend and Arboretum supporter, Nina Schneider.  Nina has been involved as a volunteer at the Arboretum since 1992, and has participated in a wide variety of projects including the design and maintenance of garden displays, the annual Plant Sale, and the redesign and renovation of the Arboretum’s gift shop.  She previously served on the Arboretum’s Advisory Board of Managers and is currently a member of several Arboretum committees.

Ellen and Jay Hass, and Christine and Michael Bamberger, are the 2013 Moonlight & Roses co-chairs.  These two couples have being working tirelessly to ensure an outstanding celebration. And part of the excitement this year is the Farm-To-Table Feast, a new dinner menu filled with locally grown ingredients created by Bruleé Catering Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix.  Also new this year is the special preview party in the Rose Garden for Benefactors and Patrons.

Moonlight &Roses gala starts at 6 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the renowned Rose Garden, followed by dinner and dancing, featuring music by The Janis Nowlan Band, under the signature Moonlight & Roses clear-top tent.  Reservations are required and space is very limited.  Opportunities are also available to sponsor a table(s).  For more information or to request an invitation, please contact Karen McGinley at (215) 247-5777, ext 418, or mcginley@exchange.upenn.edu.
