A Message to the Penn Community Regarding the Terrorism in Paris

From Amy Gutmann, President

We mourn the terrible tragedy that has unfolded in Paris.  It is an unspeakable horror that terrorism has visited on this great city.   Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

We take solace in knowing that all Penn students and faculty who were in France are safe and accounted for.

During this time of anguish for many, we want to remind Penn students of the resources that are available to them in times of difficulty.

When in doubt, students can always call the HELP line at 898-HELP (4357).  The HELP Line is a 24-hour-a-day phone number for members of the Penn community who are seeking time sensitive help in navigating Penn’s resources for health and wellness.

Counseling and Psychological Services offers confidential free professional mental health services to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at Penn.  Information can be found at http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/caps/ or by calling 215-898-7021.

There are many other resources available to Penn students in need, and we encourage anyone who is having difficulty dealing with the tragic incident in Paris to reach out to any of the following numbers:
