MAGPI’s First Annual Content Provider Carnival Is Coming to Town – Virtually

Step Right Up, Step Right Up -- for the First Annual MAGPI Content Provider Carnival where 22 amazing distance learning content providers will come together all under one virtual tent via live webcast to schools across the country!!

On Oct. 27, MAGPI, the University of Pennsylvania’s Internet2 hub, will use videoconferencing and social networking to bring award-winning distance learning content to K20 schools and public cultural organizations around the country in the First Annual Content Provider Carnival. Penn Video Network, the University’s cable television and special video events network, will provide live webstreaming of the five-and-a-half-hour distance learning carnival event.

Twenty-two select schools from across the MAGPI member network in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, South Carolina and Florida will join live via videoconference for this educational event to experience distance-learning content from content providers around the continent. Participating schools include The Haverford School, Manheim Township School District, Polytech High School, Southern Lehigh School District, Delaware Department of Education and Blue Bell Elementary School among others. Upon completing their interactive session, schools will also be able to watch the live webstream to view the other distance learning sessions that will make up the five and a half hour distance learning carnival event.

K20 schools and organizations anywhere in the world can also visit museums, science centers, cultural centers and aquaria around the world during this exciting one-day adventure by watching the live webstream and sending in questions via twitter to @magpik20 using hashtag#vccarnival.
