Eric Rabe to Join Penn’s Fels Institute of Government Research & Consulting as Senior Advisor

PHILADELPHIA –- Eric Rabe has been appointed a senior advisor to Fels Research & Consulting, the consulting practice for public-sector and non-profit organizations at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania

Rabe, an expert in Internet and new-media technologies and communications, has more than 35 years of corporate communications and management strategies expertise.  He currently serves as principal of Eric Rabe Communications Strategies, a consulting firm that helps organizations analyze communications issues, plan long-term solutions and execute effective communications and issue management tactics.  Rabe speaks and writes frequently on communications and technology. 

His views are regularly reported in the national press, online and broadcast media. While working at Verizon, Rabe developed and successfully implemented change management strategies to support three of the largest mergers ever attempted in the U.S.  After the 9/11 attacks, Rabe served as Verizon’s crisis manager and led the communications response team.

As a senior advisor, Rabe will join Sallie Glickman, a civic entrepreneur; Heather Gleason, a management consultant and Fels alum; Doug Lynch, vice dean of the Graduate School of Education at Penn; and Marcia Wilkof, an organizational management consultant.  The group will work together to lead new high-impact projects in collaboration with the Institute.  

Rabe received his M.S. in organizational dynamics Penn.  He holds a B.A. in journalism from Penn State University, where he currently serves as an advisor at the Penn State College of Communications, and was recently named a Penn State Alumni Fellow, the University’s highest alumni award.
