Danny Glover has been on screen, stage and television for more than 25 years. In 2005, he co-founded Louverture Films, dedicated to the development and production of films of historical relevance, social purpose, commercial value and artistic integrity.

Glover has been involved in wide-reaching community activism and philanthropic efforts, with a particular emphasis on advocacy for economic justice and access to health care and education programs in the United States and Africa. He served as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Program in 1998-2004 and is currently a UNICEF ambassador.

The Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania will present the lecture as part of Penn ‘s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Symposium on Social Change.
