The University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab will hold a “Fifty Years of Robotics” celebration with students in Penn’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics.

Sixteen teams have small, autonomous robots which will compete in a race through a three-gate slalom course using only images taken from an onboard camera.

In the second competition, students from the Design of Mechatronic Systems course have built robots that will compete in a 3-on-3 autonomous hockey match.

“Robot Slalom” will be held in the Levine Hall Lobby and the “Robockey Cup” will be held in the Wu & Chen Auditorium of Levine Hall. Levine Hall is located at 3330 Walnut St. on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

“Robot Slalom” begins on Friday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m.
The “Robockey Cup” begins at 7 p.m.
