“Book TV” Bus to Visit University of Pennsylvania

WHO: C-SPAN's Book TV bus, a 45-foot long mobile television production studio               

WHAT: The production crew will tape on-camera interviews with Penn authors and local readers who tour the bus. The interviews will be edited into short segments for possible broadcast on Book TV.

WHERE:West side of 36th Street between Sansom and Walnut streets near the Penn Bookstore.

WHEN:Thursday, Oct. 5, 11:30 a.m.1:30 p.m.

C-SPANs Book TV bus is traveling the country, stopping at libraries, bookstores, universities and literary festivals to promote Book TV nonfiction book programming.

Penn students, faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the bus for a tour of the studio set, an interactive demonstration about Book TV programming and an opportunity to learn how a television show is produced.

Before traveling to Penn's campus the bus will make a stop at the Philadelphia Free Library, 1901 Vine St., on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ian Lustick, professor of political science at Penn, will board the bus to be interviewed about his new book, "Trapped in the War on Terror."
