Author Malcolm Gladwell to Speak at the University of Pennsylvania

Malcolm Gladwell, author of books including, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Make a Big Difference and Outliers: The Story of Success, will speak at Penn.

Gladwell's books and articles often deal with the unexpected implications of research in the social sciences and make frequent and extended use of academic work, particularly in the areas of sociology and psychology.

His appearance at Penn is in connection with the Integrated Studies Program, which is studying the question of "thinking" this semester as part of Penn’s “Year of Proof” academic theme for 2012-13; the Ben Franklin Scholars; and the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.
