Harris Sokoloff of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania is an expert on how to discuss war with young people. Dr. Sokoloff believes discussions at school and at home can help put fears into perspective.

"Students have opinions about current events: how we respond to terrorism, the specter of war with Iraq, the tensions with North Korea, the U.S. disagreements with allies such as France and Germany, etc.," he said. "Teachers and parents can provide an opportunity for them to express their opinions with structured discussions to determine what the facts are and what those facts mean."
